Lake City

Lake City is located east of Lake Washington between Ravenna and Lake Forest Park, and it includes the neighborhoods of Cedar Park, Matthews Beach, Meadowbrook, Olympic Hills, and Victory Heights. Tall trees, quiet streets, and nice homes, many with views, are found here. Condominiums are also present. Lake City Way, the neighborhood’s main drag, offers retail shops, restaurants, car dealerships, antique stores, and more. Behind the library, Albert Davis Park features the Will Rogers Memorial and play area.

Laurelhurst

Situated on a peninsula jutting out into Lake Washington is the much sought after neighborhood of Laurelhurst. It is comprised of large, stately, and well manicured homes, many with panoramic views of the Lake and Mt. Rainier. Laurelhurst is conveniently located near the University of Washington, the University Village Shopping Center, and Children's Hospital. Laurelhurst Park and Community Center serves as a gathering place, offering programs and special events.

Maple Leaf

Maple Leaf is located near Northgate Mall. It is mostly a single-family residential neighborhoods composed of shaded trees and well-built homes. Maple Leaf is home to about 20,000 people, many neighborhood businesses, restaurants, good schools, a ballpark, Maple Leaf Park, and a community club that sponsors events throughout the year. The Northwest Puppet Center is located here, attracting visitors with workshops, museum, and public performances. Home styles include bungalows, ramblers, colonials, and builder homes, all of which are in high demand.

Ravenna

Ravenna sits directly north of the University District within close proximity to many amenities including the University of Washington, the University Village Shopping Center, I-5, Ravenna Park, and the Burke-Gilman Trail. The neighborhood of Bryant is located just south of Ravenna, and is sometimes known as Ravenna-Bryant. These neighborhoods are comprised of mostly upper middle class, well-educated people, many of whom are active in the local community association. Small bakeries, family restaurants, and unique shops draw locals and visitors alike. Three synagogues are located here, as well as ElderHealth Northwest (a non-profit agency for seniors), and the Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center offering special events and programs. Roosevelt

Roosevelt is minutes from Seattle Downtown, the University of Washington, Green Lake, and Northgate and University Village Malls. Metro buses provide easy access to these and other popular destinations. Roosevelt's pedestrian friendly commercial district, near Roosevelt Way and NE 65th Avenue, offers unique shops, restaurants, and major retailer. Newly renovated Roosevelt High School, built in 1922, is at the heart of the neighborhood. Parks, including Froula, Cowen, and Banner, provide open spaces, tennis courts, play areas, and city and mountain views. Neighborhood events include the Roosevelt Bull Moose Festival in July and monthly art walks. As in Ravenna, local house styles include bungalows, Tudors, and Craftsman homes.

University District

The neighborhood surrounding the University of Washington campus is often described as youthful and vibrant. Molded by the presence of the University, the Henry Art Gallery, and the Burke Museum, it features an intellectual and artistic lifestyle. University Avenue (or "The Ave") is a popular place to hang out, shop, and eat. The University Street Fair held each May attracts upward of 50,000 people. Nearby University Village, with over 70 stores, is a shopper's mecca. The University District is a mix of single-family homes interspersed with rental homes and apartment buildings for student housing.

View Ridge

View Ridge is a small neighborhood, tucked away on the hill just west of Wedgwood. As its name suggests, View Ridge features many homes with stunning views of Lake Washington, Mount Rainier, and the Cascade Range. The neighborhood offers a large park and playfield (View Ridge Park) and the View Ridge Swim and Tennis Club. Homes are in high demand here and property values reflect that. This neighborhood is located near the Sand Point Country Club, with its homes and golf course to the north, and Magnuson Park, which lies to the east. View Ridge has many active churches and community groups, and is supportive of families.

Wedgwood

Wedgwood spreads itself over a valley that rises to a crest in the north, where there are views of Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountain range. Primarily a single-family residential community, this established neighborhood features homes graced with a touch of old-world charm, single-vehicle driveways and garages, and often meticulous gardens. The community has a tucked-away semi-suburban feel. The business district (along 35th Avenue NE) holds on to an old-world charm and leans away from chains, corporations, and franchises.

Windermere

Windermere is a well-to-do residential neighborhood, named after Windermere in England's Lake District. It is lies just north of Laurelhurst and is bounded on the east by Lake Washington and on the north by a 350-acre Magnuson Park. Like Laurelhurst, Windermere offers large and well manicured homes, many with panoramic views of the Lake and Mt. Rainier. It is also convenient to the University of Washington and the University Village Shopping Center.
